Chapter 138
Arabella and James smiled slyly, as it was time for their secret mission together. They were currently in the boutique, hanging out with a couple who were just as sweet as they were. Before embarking on their secret mission, they said goodbye to the couple.
“Edith, pray for us that this mission goes smoothly,” Arabella said, glancing at James.
“Of course. I’m sure you and James managed to get that evidence p>
Callum patted James’ shoulder briefly. “If you find anything strange, you have to tell me, James p>
James smiled casually and put his arm around Callum’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. Leave the secret mission to me. I’ll gather all the evidence and give it to you p>
“By the way, it looks like you brought a lot of equipment that you put in a suitcase.” Callum’s eyes fell on the suitcase that was placed on the table.
“Yes, I brought other equipment so our fingerprints wouldn’t be detected. I also brought medication in case something happened to Arabella p>
Edith and Callum laughed awkwardly, seeing their friends acting like a real couple. Furthermore, Arabella uncharacteristically smiled shyly at her ex’s overly sweet words. Could this mean her ex still cared for her, despite his coldness?
“James, aren’t you overdoing it by bringing medicine?” Callum asked mockingly.
“Now I want to ask you too. If you were to take Edith on a dangerous mission, would you do the same thing I did p>
“Yes, because Edith is my future wife.” Callum confidently put his arm around his fiancée’s shoulders.
Edith lowered her head in shame, staring intently at her beloved fiancé. “I loved hearing what you said earlier p>
“By the way, if I were the one bringing medicine for Edith it would be normal, but if you were bringing medicine for Arabella, it would be very strange p>
James stared nervously at his ex, his words ultimately backfiring on him. Arabella, too, kept her head down, not expecting James to secretly care for her. If this continued, would their relationship ever be restored?
“Instead of wasting time here, how about we just get on with our secret mission?” James deliberately changed the subject to avoid making things even more awkward.
“Right. I don’t know what time Cliff will be back. We should probably go there now p>
“You guys have to be careful. We don’t know if Cliff really left or if he’s setting a trap for you,” Callum advised with a stern look.
Now, only the couple remained in the living room with their twins. Edith’s thoughts were still ringing in her ears from hearing her fiancé confidently mention his “future wife.” Her eyes sparkled as she stared at him, busy playing with their twins. While she still didn’t know what the future would hold, Callum already assumed their relationship would surely run smoothly until marriage.
“Edith, your cheeks are red.” Callum laughed awkwardly, staring at his fiancée with an intense gaze.
“Because I like you p>
“Because I said it out loud that you are my future wife p>
Edith nodded. “You’re so sweet. I’m going to have trouble sleeping tonight p>
“Mom, if you have trouble sleeping, you can ask Dad to read you a story,” Eliana suggested with an innocent look.
Callum burst out laughing, happily cradling his little girl in his arms. “My daughter, if I read your mother a fairy tale, she’d stay awake and keep me reading until morning p>

Meanwhile, Arabella and James arrived at Cliff’s office, only to find it closed. Only a few security guards were patrolling outside. Now it was time for Arabella to show off her skills on a secret mission with her ex.
First, James installed a hacking device on various CCTV cameras. Within moments, he was leading his ex-girlfriend into the building before security could catch them.
Arabella immediately led James to Cliff’s private room, which was heavily secured. She took out her VIP card and tapped it against the sensor, causing the door to automatically open for them.
Without further ado, she pulled James’ hand into the room and let the door close automatically. Arabella was very relieved to see that the room’s layout hadn’t changed, making it easier for her to find the evidence Cliff had hidden. The first thing she did was open the secret safe. As far as she could remember, Cliff often opened the secret safe every time they made out in this room. Arabella was very curious, could it be that all the evidence was stored there? Especially since Cliff couldn’t think clearly when doing evil things.

Arabella turned to look at James, who was taking various tools out of his suitcase. “Do you want to use your tools to open this safe p>
“Of course. My purpose in carrying the bag is so that you don’t have to bother expending a lot of energy p>
James began by sprinkling talcum powder on the safe’s access code input button and then gently stirring it with a brush. After only a few seconds, Cliff’s fingerprints were detected on several random digits.
Arabella’s eyes widened at James’s performance, truly amazing. Her mouth remained wide open.
“Do you want to let insects into your mouth?” James taunted as he entered the access code according to the visible fingerprint.
“Having an ex-boyfriend who is a former secret agent is really cool p>
“Therefore, you shouldn’t have asked to break up at that time p>
Arabella’s expression darkened again at her ex’s sarcastic remarks. James was right. She shouldn’t have been so foolish as to break up just because he was so childish. Now, it would be difficult for them to be together, as James was still hurt.
James managed to open the door to the secret safe. His eyes widened at the numerous documents stored inside. One folder, in particular, caught his attention, containing the DNA test results between Callum and his real twins. He immediately took several documents out of the safe and showed them to Arabella.
