I sat in my Alpha’s private office.

The Packhouse had been packed with loads of work these days.
I barely had time to breathe.
After Kaia’s exile,all the Pack responsibilities fell on my shoulders.
Liora could have helped but she’s very pregnant.

I stared at the chandelier.

I stood up,my finger wrapping the scroll tightly.
Looking toward the window, the storm rolled around.
“Maybe,” I say. “She’s good for us,and the high priest is just paranoid”
“I believe so too,Alpha” Rylan stood up as well. “We should prepare to welcome the Shadowclaw Alpha. Don’t you agree p>
I nodded, concealing my excitement.

I couldn’t rest easy knowing my accomplices still live in the pack.

The one that I staged in cohort with the rogues to get rid of Kaia.
And it’s worked.
Because Kaia got kicked to the curb for attempting to kill me and my child.
But after weeks,I need to get rid of the rogues before something goes wrong.
I tightened my veil and slipped out through the servants’ passage behind the east wing.
The rogues were waiting in the clearing, shadows with hungry eyes.
One of them, the scarred one who had attacked me that night, stepped forward, bowing mockingly.
“You said we’d be safe,Luna”
I smiled, the title tastes like sugar on my tongue.
Being Luna does feel so good. Powerful even.
“You’re safe. But, only if you disappear. Leave the borders tonight. Head north and never return” I firmly warned, my face stoic.
The rogue hesitated.”And what about our rewards p>
I leaned in, whispering in his ear. “Your reward is in place. You just need to get out of here faster than I blink my eyes”

He stiffened. The others backed away. They knew better than to push me.
As they turned to go, one of them; a smaller man with yellowed eyes, laughed under his breath.
“Can’t believe we got away with it. Successfully framed that bitch and no one even blinked”
My smile didn’t falter,but my eyes went cold.

“Watch your mouth,” I warned coldly. “The forgotten have a way of crawling back when you speak their name out too loudly”
“Oops,my bad. I’m sorry,Luna” the rogue pinched his tongue.
I heaved a sigh.
Dipping my hand into my purse, I pulled envelopes.
“Here are your rewards,” I handed it out. “Take these and disappear forever. If anything happens and you get caught. You and I have never met. Do you understand p>
“Yes,Luna. We have never met” one the rogue repeated. “Not once. Not ever”
“Good.” I smirked. “Now, disappear and don’t come back”
The rogues vanished into the darkness.
I stood there a moment longer, my fingers brushing the silver pendant on my neck.
It was the one Draven had given me the night I swore loyalty to him.

“Guess who won in the end, Kaia,” I smirked. “You’re the ghost now,not me”

When I returned to my quarters, Seraphine was waiting in my room.
Seraphine officially works for me now. Occasionally, she helps out at the pack infirmary.

I laughed softly, gloatingly.
“Draven won’t find out. He’s too busy convincing himself he’s the savior of this pack”
I walked to stand in front of the mirror.
