I trailed behind Theo back to the office.
The walk back to the main hall felt longer than usual.
Maybe it was because we were silent the whole time.
Maybe it was the memories Theo had unintentionally ripped open.
But I couldn’t move myself to walk faster not say anything to him.
I have no idea what to say to him.
What if he asked about what happened to Kaia? What would I tell him?
I found out after Theo left that the blue Luna he always talked about was Kaia.

I remembered the girl who laughed quietly at my terrible jokes.

I forced the thoughts down my throat when the guards opened the double doors.
When we went inside, the long wooden table was filled with some of my men.
Theo stood beside the long wooden table, surrounded by my top men and advisors.

Everyone looked at Theo with hope and admiration, while I was breaking inside, hoping this alliance would go down smoothly.

“Alpha Draven, let’s begin,” I heard Theo call out to me. I smiled and took my seat.

I nodded, pushing every lingering emotion into a cold corner of my mind.
This wasn’t the time for ghosts. I need to focus on what’s important.
Theo stepped forward, an amused glint in his eyes.

“Yeah,” I said, clearing my throat. “Let’s do this p>
One of Theo’s men stood up and distributed the contract agreement in front of us and we both signed.
Silvermoon and Shadowclaw, officially became allies.
“Congratulations Alphas”
A ripple of approval went through the room, everyone shook hands, some of my men happily clapped and I could sense the excitement in the air.
Pride swelled in my ribs, tightening me until I almost forgot the heaviness I felt a little while ago.
When we were done at the office, Theo was about to head out when I stopped him.
“Alpha Theo,” I said, walking to him. “You still have a night here, right? How about dinner? This calls for a celebration”
“You’re right,” Theo chuckled. “I still have a night left, let’s celebrate”
“Great! Let’s do that” I said, nodding.
By the time we got back to the mansion, dinner was ready to be served.
Liora outdid herself. She was diligently overseeing everything despite her condition and I couldn’t be more grateful that she was my mate and Luna.
She was everything I’ve ever wanted.

Soon, the table was set and the dining hall smelled of roasted herbal chicken and warm bread.
She stepped beside him with a gentle smile.

She looked at the door and Seraphine walked in with a bowl of soup, smiling as she greeted us.
“I hope you like the food, Alpha Theo,” she said before taking her seat.

I relaxed slightly and took to serving Liora’s plate.
Liora handled the home affair perfectly, I had no complaints.

I watched her move with confidence, composed.
She handled servants, food, events, and even conversation with seamless ease.
A far cry from Kaia, who used to flinch at loud voices, she would drop plates when nervous.
Kaia always looked too tired to handle the house after a few meetings.
Liora fit the Luna role effortlessly.
I felt a twinge of guilt at the thought but I couldn’t deny it.
Liora was reliable and perfect.
She was the type of partner I could trust to help govern a pack, not one I had to worry about protecting when things went awry.
I lifted his cup, letting the warmth settle into my chest.

As they drank, Liora leaned into my side and patted my arm, reassuringly.
I allowed it, I let her engulf me with her love and affection.

I felt a kick, and I realised our pup was happy as well.
“Did you see that?” I exclaimed, “The baby, it kicked p>

“Yes, I did. Our baby seems to be happy for you as well”
I pulled her closer and kissed her lips, burying my nose in her neck.
When I turned around, Theo was looking at us.
“So sorry about that, Theo,” I said.
“No, it’s okay. You two are such a sweet couple, I love seeing happy couples” Theo said, holding a glass of
water.
“Thank you. Let’s eat,” I suggested. “Please eat some more, Alpha Theo”
