From the rearview mirror, Dominic Faulkner glanced at her, lips curving faintly.
“Already smiling? Did divorce suit you that well p>
That’s when Nora finally thought to ask,
“Who are you? Why did you take me away p>
She studied him through the front mirror. Sharp brows, well–defined features, thin lips pressed tight. Even in
silence, his presence was quietly dominant, like pressure from a storm about to break.
But oddly enough…
She didn’t sense any malice from him.
Dominic let out a soft chuckle.
“You don’t even know who I am, yet you got in my car without question p>
Nora nodded.
“You saved me. That’s all I need to trust you p>
His brow twitched slightly, but he didn’t respond.
Meanwhile, in a rotating rooftop restaurant, Chase was having dinner with Camila.
Suddenly, a wave of dread swept through him–like something priceless had just slipped through his fingers.
As the seconds ticked by, the unease only grew.
With a loud bang, he shoved back his chair, knocking it over as he stood.
“I need to check on something. Wait here–I’ll be quick p>
“But you promised to take me to the amusement park tonight p>
Chase was already gone.
Camila bit down hard and forced herself to wait–just like he told her.
Chase sped all the way back to the Whitmore estate.

Darkness. Silence. Emptiness.
He rushed to the bedroom.
No one in the bed.
The closet had been emptied.
Every trace of Nora had vanished. The entire place looked like she had never lived there at all.
Panic gripped him.
He fumbled for his phone, dialing her number.
All he got was the cold, endless beep… beep…
She had never ignored his calls. Not once.
He redialed–again and again. Over a dozen times.
This time, the call didn’t even go through.
Her phone had been powered off.
His hands shook. His brain couldn’t catch up with his panic.
He was unraveling.
He quickly dialed his security team.
“ Find her. I want a full report on where she went. When was the last time she was seen at the estate p>
The guard’s voice shook.
“Mr. Whitmore, wasn’t it… under your orders? The last time she was here, she was taken by those men p>
He didn’t dare say the word rape.
Chase’s heart dropped.
“Pull the surveillance footage. The cold storage camera–pull it up now. I want to see everything p>
As soon as he hung up, he collapsed to the floor like the strength had been drained from his body.
Something deep inside him… was gone.
Like a chunk of his soul had been carved out.

But every beat hurt like hell.
The footage played.
A woman’s cries echoed through the villa, gut–wrenching and desperate.
“Stay away–please–don’t touch me p>

Even in that moment…
She was still clinging to his name, hoping he’d come.
Tears streamed down Chase’s face.

lifts into the air–as if being carrying–but no figure appears p>
Chase’s expression darkened.
Fast–forwarding the video confirmed it.
She had clearly been picked up–but the person was invisible.
Chase shot to his feet, hands clenched so tight his knuckles turned bone–white p>
Who the hell had the guts to break into the Whitmore estate and take his wife?
