Lucy hung up the phone and continued selecting vegetables, pushing the cart along.
Seven, sitting in the cart, saw items on the shelves and reached out his little arms, softly calling out, “Mommy p>
Lucy smiled, picked up a carrot, and handed it to him. The little boy immediately hugged it contentedly in his arms.
When the shopping was done, they went to the checkout. Lucy asked the nanny to wait outside with Seven.
Seven walked to a less crowded spot and squatted down to play with a toy car he was holding.
Coincidentally, Kingsley and Shane had just finished a meeting and were striding toward the parking lot.
Walking by Seven, Kingsley happened to see the small figure in white squatting there. The nanny had stepped in front, making sure nobody stepped on him, so his face was hidden.
Shane only gave a cursory glance before hurrying to catch up with Kingsley.
Once in the car, Kingsley leaned back in his seat. Yet, that small figure lingered in his mind.
Against his will, his mind returned to the child who had never been born.
His expression darkened instantly.
Lucy finished paying and came out to find Seven still squatting there playing with his car. She called out gently, “Seven, time to go home p>
The little boy immediately looked up, revealing his fair, tender face. He grinned broadly and replied in a sweet, sticky voice, “Mommy p>
Lucy bent down to pick him up. Just as she was about to grab the shopping bags, the nanny hurried forward. “Miss Lynwood, let me take those p>
In her arms, Seven suddenly wrapped his arms around Lucy’s neck and whispered a single word: “Papa p>
Lucy was used to it. Ever since Seven started talking, the word “Papa” would pop out of his mouth from time to time.
Fortunately, he was still small and his pronunciation was unclear. He didn’t ask questions, which saved her a lot of explaining.
Lucy carried Seven to the parking lot, opened the door, and carefully to
strapped him to his car seat
then circled to the drivers side and started the car.

Seven opened his large eyes, dark as grapes, and looked down at the car in his
hand. “Dirty,” he said in a milky voice.
He handed the car over.
Lucy glanced at her son in the rearview mirror and praised him with a smile, “Seven learned a new word! You’re so smart p>
When Kingsley returned to his office, he found Ethan lounging on the sofa.
Seeing him enter, Ethan spoke first. “You’re back p>
Kingsley tossed his jacket aside, his tone indifferent. “Something wrong p>
“What could be wrong? I’m just bored, so I came to find you for dinner p>
Ethan grumbled internally. If it weren’t for accompanying his mother and trying to convince her to invest, he wouldn’t be in Switzerland
at all. He’d rather be holed up in his lab
“You’re not here to mooch a meal?” Kingsley retorted, casually picking up a file from
his desk to review. He uncapped his pen and signed his name efficiently.
Ethan stood up and walked to the desk. “Don’t look down on me. I’m treating today —right here in your company cafeteria p>
Kingsley didn’t even look up. “Go back to your hotel, or go find your mother p>
“I’m not going back. I came specifically to find you,” Ethan insisted.
Kingsley glanced at his watch. “I have a business engagement p>
“Take me with you. I’ll be your temporary secretary!” Ethan chimed in immediately.
